You can opt out of the program at any time, because participation is voluntary for savers.
To opt out online without a login:
- Visit your program website.
- Enter your access code and select Search.
- If you do not have your Access Code, click on Don’t have your access code? enter your SSN/ITIN and Date of Birth, and select Search.
- You will see all of the employers you have been added by. Select any or all employers and click Opt Out.
To opt out online with an existing login:
- Log in to your account online.
- Open the “Settings" tab from the horizontal menu options and select Employers.
- Click on the pencil icon and check the box that says "I would like to opt out of contributions for [employer]".
- Select Save.
You will be opted out of the plan and will receive an email confirmation.
You can also opt out by filling out and sending in an opt out form. Please be sure to allow time for mail to be received and processed before your opt out will become effective.
If you opt out within 30 days of being notified that you were enrolled:
- No payroll deductions will be taken from your paycheck
- Your account will not be activated
If you opt out after contributions have begun:
- Future payroll deductions will stop
- Money already in your account can
- Stay invested for your retirement
- Be transferred or rolled over to another IRA
- Be withdrawn, which may be subject to federal and state taxes and possible penalties
If you have an email on file, you will receive a confirmation email when you opt out. If you later change your mind, you can opt back in at any time on the program website.
